Travel, Work, Stay & Explore Philippines
Now more than ever, living as a digital nomad has become such an enticing idea. After all, wouldn’t it be great to travel at your own pace while still earning moolah? Clearly, this is something that Baybayin Hub had in mind. This homegrown co-living & workspace company is all about bringing ‘workations’ to freelancers, entrepreneurs, artists, and all other remote workers that are looking to explore more of the Philippines.
They weren’t kidding when they said that you’re in for a workation. And by that, we mean total work-life balance! Their Wi-Fi reaches all the way outdoors, where they have an extended seating area, so you can definitely keep on working in whatever spot you prefer. Yup, say goodbye to productivity lags!

This Chill Coworking Space Is Right By the Beach
If there’s one thing that the ongoing community quarantine proved, it’s that most of us can actually work anywhere. A lot of writers, editors, graphic designers, and web developers have been working from home in the past nine months, temporarily leaving behind office spaces and cubicles. All you need is a laptop and a WiFi connection, and you’re good to go. And Baybayin Hub, an initiative that helps tourist spots transform into coworking and coliving spaces, is making our dreams of working while spending our days by the beach come true.
As for the Internet connection, Baybayin Hub’s team frequently go on Facebook Live or Zoom meetings with possible members to test out the WiFi speed. “Hindi namin ma-guarantee talaga especially doon sa remote islands. Kasi naglalaro lang ‘yong Internet doon—fiber doon nasa 10-20 mbps. There are some challenges, especially kung sobrang lakas ng hangin. Nawawala-wala rin talaga siya. [But] we believe it is much better now,” Darnayla says. Most clients have their own portable router or LTE mobile connection as backup. But it’s the perfect excuse to skip those online meetings-that-could-have-been-an-e-mail.
Remote working, according to the founder, is fairly new in the Philippines; but a lot of freelancers have been doing this for years. “It could potentially help you improve your personal and career growth. Because imagine you [are] surrounded by like-minded professionals,” the founder says. And if you had a whole beach strip as your office, all the day’s stress would likely just melt away.
