Where to eat?

Of course, that highly depends on where you stay.

I will focus on the central, North-Western area as these are where most of the food places are.

One of the things that Baguio is known for is its Night Market in Harrison Road; here you can try all kinds of street foods, local and international sp you won’t run out of choices to pick from; if street food isn’t what you’re looking for, there are stalls that serve ‘Lutong Bahay’ – local filipino dishes and all for an affordable price.

If you don’t know where to eat, the safest place to go would be the mall so you have many options all in one place. There are many malls in Baguio to choose from, especially around Session Road.

Not where to eat, but what to eat; some recommended Baguio delicacies you must try; Pinikpikang Manok is a local dish that originated from the Igrot tribes of Baguio, you can usually find this dish in a restaurant that serves local Filipino food. Baguio is famous for their strawberry fields so there are many dishes that have a strawberry flavor variation to them like Strawberry Taho and Strawberry wine which is their pride produce and has a slightly lower alcohol percentage that regular wine, but do not underestimate it’s abilities as it is still an alcoholic drink.

For vegans / vegetarian diets:

On the fifth floor of Azotea building, near Burnham Park, you can find this artistic vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurant: Oh My Gulay. The place serves a wide selection of dishes like pastas but mainly Filipino cuisine at a mid range price.

During your stay, you will feel like you’re eating at an outdoor art exhibit with all the plants and mosaics, carvings and pictures surrounding you. If you come and visit here, you cannot miss the amazing balcony view, especially during sunset, which will leave you not only with a full stomach but a full camera roll too.

Like a local:

The Farmer’s Daughter is a restaurant along Long Long Road that gives a homely feel that serves various authentic local Filipino food for a reasonable price that will fit perfectly within your budget. This kubo-like eatery is quite famous so we recommend coming early to beat the queue, but if you do get caught up in the rush, I guarantee, the wait is worth the wait.

For a date / with a view:

In San Carlos heights, you will find a restaurant called Foggy Mountain CookHouse that you may need to reserve at least a day ahead due to its popularity and even pre-order some dishes because some need a whole day to be prepared. With the generous plating you get to enjoy the amazing overlooking view of the Baguio mountains and as the name suggests, it will most likely be a foggy scenery.
